Just what you want

FlowersWhite This means that our investment in you and your career will be second to none - if you need evidence of how serious we are about training and development, consider the following: in 2006 we trained 15,600 employees or, put another way, we held 1,300 group training days.

Your training will be geared to you as an individual, yet aligned closely to the needs of the business. We have introduced learning activities that support our 'Go for Growth' strategy including sales training and a performance development review process.

This means that you will be able to develop your potential while making a full and valued contribution to our ongoing success.

Resources
We have our own dedicated Learning and Development team aligned to the business areas, which helps line managers identify, plan, organise and evaluate the training and development of people under their wing. But we will also encourage you to manage and drive your own development - a Learning Resource Centre well stocked with books, videos, audiotapes and training materials will be accessible to you for this purpose.

Induction
When you join us, you will be given a structured induction plus a buddying and mentoring scheme that will help you to find your feet. As you settle in and make progress, numerous training courses, development programmes and workshops will be open to you, along with an individual personal learning plan.

TeensLookingDown Initiatives
It would be impossible to list everything here, but our initiatives range from National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and Apprenticeships to EPOS training, e-Learning and our own 'Aspire To' management trainee programme.

Blended learning
We have a blended learning approach that supports our facilities management roles and includes both in-house training and external development. This includes an integrated facilities management foundation programme, PRINCE2 project management, space management programmes, supply chain management and managing risk, which could lead to an externally recognised qualification with BIFM or City and Guilds.

Specific courses will allow you to develop softer skills in motivation, communication, planning & organising and people management.

Finally, you can expect constant reviews of your performance with your line manager and an individual personal development plan. This will be created to give you an opportunity to work with your manager to see how your skills base can be improved. Anything the two of you agree will then be acted on as a matter of priority.
