Sodexho Wins Northern Way Contract

Sodexho has been awarded a catering contract by Northern Way, a property developer that leases office space to various businesses. The contract is initially for one year and has an estimated turnover of £370,000 with the potential to significantly increase as the number of tenants rises.

The property is located at Universal Square on the fringe of Manchester city centre close to the City of Manchester stadium, home of Manchester City FC and the venue for the Commonwealth Games.

Sodexho's services will include managing a Costa coffee bar/deli and retail shop as well as providing hospitality at the site.

Grant Arterton, business development director for Sodexho, said: "This is an exciting opportunity and a new type of venture. Business parks with shared and central facilities are a growing market and one that we are keen to be part of."

There are currently 1,000 tenants on 280,000 sq ft site, with the population expected to rise to 2,000 over the next 12-18 months. Sodexho will initially employ seven members of staff at the site.
