What are childcare vouchers?

Childcare vouchers are offered by employers to their employees to pay for registered or approved childcare. Employees can take up to £55 per week in vouchers. Paper vouchers are redeemed through Sodexho Pass. Electronic vouchers do not require redemption as they are paid straight into your bank account by your parents.

What do I have to do?

When joining up to accept vouchers, you have to complete one form and supply a copy of your registration or approval certificate to the parent. You are then sent confirmation of your affiliation number with your welcome letter. Our service is as flexible and hassle-free as possible. There is no redemption required for e-vouchers. You are paid straight into your bank account on the parent's instruction. The payment is made to your bank account and the parent's name will appear on the remittance advice so you can keep track of who has paid you. Alternatively you can agree a reference with the parent for payments via their e-voucher accounts to keep track of which child the payment relates to. When accepting paper vouchers, the vouchers need to be redeemed through Sodexho Pass. You can do this in one of three ways - email, Freepost or Freephone - you can choose the method which suits you best. The payment made to your bank account and displayed on the remittance advice will bear the name of the parent to which it relates so you can keep track of who has paid you. You can also request your own reference, such as the child's name.

How do I sign up to accept Sodexho Pass childcare vouchers?

All you need to do to be able accept Sodexho Pass childcare vouchers is complete a Carer Registration Agreement Form. Your parent should pass this to you to complete. Alternatively you can find it in the joining the scheme section. Once completed this should be given back to the parent along with a copy of your registration or approval certificate. Your parent will not be able to pay you with childcare vouchers without a copy of your certificate. Ensure you complete your email address if you have one so Sodexho Pass can notify you of payments made to your account.

What happens once I've joined?

Once affiliated with Sodexho Pass, you will be sent a welcome letter giving your Sodexho Pass ID number. You will receive this electronically if you are accepting e-vouchers and you have supplied us with an email address. If you are accepting paper vouchers you will receive a letter through the post giving you the freepost address so you can redeem the vouchers.
